This project, which has been granted planning consent, is for a new residential development located on the southern edge of the island of Grand Cayman. A single building appears to be carved from limestone rock outcropping in the coastal landscape. The sea–facing south elevation is characterised by large openings with views of the Caribbean Sea and the unobstructed horizon – a view of open sky and sea. The distinctive plan figure is derived from the planning regulations with respect to set–backs – particularly in relation to the high water mark to the south, combined with the desire to maximise the elevation frontage to the sea–ward face of the building. Three large lightwells bring light deep into the plan.

The predominant material is proposed as a warm–coloured limestone, similar to the stone found outcropping on the island. The detailing is simple and robust, with deep–set terraces to the south elevation protecting the primary internal spaces of the apartments from the glare of the sun.

The development comprises 16 apartments over 3 storeys. The first floor allows for large double–height apartments with a mezzanine. The ground floor apartments have direct access to a communal sea–front terrace and an infinity pool, whilst the top–storey apartments have direct access to private roof terraces carved out of the sloping form of the roof.
