Holywood Arches
Belfast

This commission proposes a masterplan for an area east of Belfast’s city centre.
This plan identifies a series of key sites and makes proposals for their development. Through these proposals a series of new public spaces become articulated – these, in turn, engage with the prevailing transport routes and a wider network of developing cycle paths.
Hall McKnight progressed the first of the identified sites through to Planning Approval for a small community building located at the intersection of two newly established cycle ‘green–ways’ – this project, under the direction of another architect, is currently under construction. Upon completion, this building will begin regeneration of a long–standing derelict block on one of Belfast’s main arteries.
