Hall McKnight were one of five short–listed entries in an RIBA International Competition for a new Business School at the University for the Creative Arts’ Epsom Campus. The competition concluded in 2019 (UN Studio were declared the winners).

Our scheme proposed a re–ordering of the campus plan along a new axial route from the main arrival space deep into the centre of the campus where a new Hall would be located. The proposal was designed to carefully manage the immediate proximity and adjacency of existing buildings in the short term, whilst also anticipating long term adaptability, such that future replacement of some existing buildings could be readily accommodated.

A language of gables emerged from studies of both the suburban locale (within which the campus is sited) and Epsom’s historic buildings.
